special needs partnership
The Special Needs Partnership was founded in 2010 when a group of local families with children with special needs joined together to advocate more strongly on behalf of their children. The Partnership is a community-building, grass roots initiative, comprised of individuals from different organizations across the community that builds awareness and support through programming of community events. It is operated under the Board of Directors of JFS.
Our goal is for children with special needs to have the opportunity to reach their highest potential socially, emotionally, behaviorally and academically. Our team of professional experts works to ensure individuals with special needs can reach their fullest potential at home, at school and in their community.
Our team of experienced professionals includes:
School mental-health counselors
School and family liaisons
Our team of professionals collaborates with the child’s family members, caregivers, school personnel, doctors and other professional service providers to support and enhance the quality of life for the child and family. Although any one service can be accessed on its own, our comprehensive program provides ongoing, integrated and coordinated resources and support.
Specific support services for parents and/or typically developing siblings can be made available so that personal, marital and family goals can be achieved.
Jewish Family Service
JFS is the only organization in North Texas Accredited by the Council on Accreditation in all service areas as well as our management, fiscal operation and governance.
To provide professional, effective and affordable mental health and social services that promote lifelong self-sufficiency and well-being for anyone in need.
Jewish Family Service is an open door to those in need regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, or ability to pay. Our services and programs are built upon our core beliefs:
Any of us might need help from time to time as we navigate life’s unexpected crises and challenging transitions.
An individual’s emotional and physical wellbeing is the foundation for personal self-sufficiency, strong families, and meaningful social relationships.
Each child’s physical, intellectual, and emotional potential can best be realized by growing up in a safe and nurturing environment.
All adults want to support themselves, meet family needs, and contribute productively to their community.
Older adults should have the option to remain in their own homes for as long as it is safe to do so.
When people turn to Jewish Family Service for help, they can rely on licensed professionals with the education, expertise, experience, and heart to make a positive difference in thousands of lives every year in an atmosphere of respect and confidentiality.
